Engineering for Tsunami Resilience

Tsunami are large waves formed by earthquakes and pose a significant hazard to the coastal built environment. In this workshop we will learn the physics behind these deadly waves. We will discuss their causes, how to predict their impact and how to design coastal buildings and settlements to increase their resilience against them. The workshop will involve a practical exercise where participants will design and build their own tsunami resilient building.
